Poem Analysis – Sonnet 116 ‘Let Me Not To The Marriage Of True Minds’ Study the first 12 lines of the poem. Discuss how Shakespeare makes a statement in the first and second lines, and then use lines 2-12 to give examples which supports his viewpoints. In the first two lines of the poem Shakespeare writes, Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments: love is not love The first line shows that he thinks you should not marry unless you are faithful. He says ‘let me not’ which means that he does not approve of the untrue or unfaithful minds marrying. The second line means that there will be obstacles in your way and you must be willing to face or overcome them. Otherwise ‘love is not love’, or you will†¦show more content†¦This continues Shakespeare’s idea of being faithful and then continues to think about the other person. He uses the word ‘remover’ as the one who falls out of love which emphasises the fact that it is their fault and they are the ones being unfaithful. This could also be used as an example of one of the obstacles, which Shakespeare explains exists in the second line. In the next two lines Shakespeare explores love being there forever. O no, it is an ever fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken Here he starts to use metaphors to explain his viewpoints on love. In the first of the two lines he uses the word ‘mark’ which means buoy to show that the feeling of love does not change or move. He then says that love faces ‘tempests’ or storms and is still never shaken. These lines are a contrast to the last two as they now show love never changing. The next lines show how faithful you can be and that true love will always come through. It is the star to every wand’ring bark Whose worth’s unknown, although his height can be taken A metaphor is used here, love is the star to a wandering ship. It guides you and gives you direction. Also it means that you always follow it or always go back to your true love and also gives the idea of life and love being a voyage or journey. The second line means that love has no worth, it is priceless although it can be measured. The Case Of Missouri Vs. Seibert - 1173 Words

In the Case of Missouri v. Seibert, a mother named Patrice Seibert was convicted of second degree murder. Patrice Seibert had a son named Jonathan who was twelve years old and had cerebral palsy. Jonathan Seibert suddenly died in his sleep, and his mother thought that she would be held responsible for his sudden death. Ms. Seibert then devised a plan with her two older sons and their friends. She wanted to cover up the death of Jonathan, so she conspired with her sons and their friends to cover up the death by burning down their mobile home. Donald Rector was a mentally ill individual who stayed with the Seibert’s and later died as the home went up in flames. Several days later, Seibert was taken into the police station and questioned about the mysterious mobile home fire. While being interrogated, the officer waved Ms. Seibert’s Miranda rights. She was questioned for thirty to forty minutes before she was given a break. While being questioned, the officer hope d that Ms. Seibert would voluntarily confess to the crimes that had taken place. After her break, she was then questioned a second time. This time, the officer turned on a recorder and then read Ms. Seibert her Miranda Warnings, and the officer also obtained a signed waiver of rights from Seibert. What are the significant discoveries, key concepts, arguments, and/or theories that scholars have put forward? Which are the important works? On which particular areas of the topic has previous research oncentrated? Have there been developments over time? What methodologies have been used? Are there any gaps in the research? In a hesis or dissertation, the review is usually a full chapter (at least 20 pages), but for an assignment it may only be a few pages. Structure There are several ways to organize and structure a literature review. Two common ways are chronologically and thematically. Chronological: In a chronological review, you will group and discuss your sources in order of their appearance (usually publication), highlighting the changes in research in the field and your specific topic over time. This method is useful for papers focusing on research methodology, historiographical papers, and other writing where time becomes an important lement. For example, a literature review on theories of mental illness might present how the understanding of mental illness has changed through the centuries, by giving a series of examples of key developments and ending with current theories and the direction your research will take. Thematic: In a thematic review, you will group and discuss your sources in terms of the themes or topics they cover. This method is often a stronger one organizationally, and it can help you resist the urge to summarize your sources. By grouping themes or topics of research together, you will e able to demonstrate the types of topics that are important to your research. Philosophy of World Religions

Question: Discuss about thePhilosophy of World Religions. Answer: Introduction In all cultures there are many stories passed on from one generation to the next. These stories are mostly myths. Myths are basically stories that are relevant to a particular culture and are used to convey stories of mythical events or people. The stories have a way of evoking and stirring emotions in people. The stories are debatable in terms of their correlation to truth and most of them are either completely false or an exaggeration of the actual truth. I have gone through two interesting websites that cover many stories on myths. These include The Ultimate History Project and Ancient History Encyclopedia. The two cover stories that happen to be fascinating, the tale of two Easters and the history of the culture referred to as the Hittite culture. This of course is a matter of personal opinion and my take on the websites and how they have set out to convey the stories to the world and preserve the myths. The Hittite culture is associated with the people who had settled in what is Turkey in the modern world. They are considered as having been major foes of the Israelites in the biblical times. The website is very informative and offers many insights. I have myself not encountered the narrative before but I can totally relate. The importance of the dates is very ideal in as far as rending credibility to the story is concerned. The dates give the story history significance as well. The aspect that grasps my attention is the difficulty of the perceived translation of texts from Anatolia. This baffles me as all pre-historic languages have found their way into present texts but this particular language seems to have escaped the attention of scholars the world over. The tale of two Easters is a slightly different narrative although equally intriguing. The story has its origins in ancient England where we had a king and his queen who observed different forms of Christianity. The end result was that there was and remains doubts on the right date for the Easter celebrations that mark the death and resurrection of Christ. The story is still new to me. As a Christian, I have grown up knowing that there is only one date for Easter. This new revelation definitely makes it a little bit more interesting. The role of myths in demystifying religion has definitely been questioned in my case by these two new narratives. The myths are good for history and I believe they have a role to play in society and the socialization process. Through such stories, we are able to associate closer to the truth of religion. Both stories help to create a distinction what may be considered as sacred in religion or deemed as being profane. The two websites I have picked have offered great insights. My choice was guided by the fact that they also offer content relating to other topics making them authoritative websites.
